Best Ski Resorts in Europe for Snow in March

March marks a significant shift in the rankings compared to the peak winter months. The French high-altitude resorts that dominate December and January give way to a more geographically diverse top 15, with Italian Dolomites resorts, Swiss central Alps, and Austrian high-altitude terrain all featuring strongly.

La Rosière leads at 117cm, but Cervinia and Arabba, both in Italy, sit joint second at 102cm, their highest position of the ski season. Engelberg appears at #8, Flims Laax Falera at #12, and Austrian resorts Obertauern, Arosa Lenzerheide, and Silvretta Montafon all feature in the top 15.

March also offers the best value in the ski season. Prices fall sharply after school holidays, days are longer, and at altitude conditions can be exceptional. The 30 year data shows average March snowfall in the top ranked resorts is comparable to February. The risk in March is temperature at lower elevations, not precipitation at altitude.
